What is Intense Pulse Light?
IPL is a new technology that has revolutionized the treatment of various conditions. Technically, IPL, which stands for “Intense Pulsed Light”, is not a laser but a powerful light source that has the ability to penetrate the skin with minimal skin damage. Basically, the IPL works by filtering various wavelengths of light to react with specific skin conditions.
IPL treats hyper-pigmentation (brown spots), collagen building, vascular lesions caused by rosacea, unwanted hair & p.acne (bacterial acne).
What is a Photofacial?
It is usually performed as a series of treatments (Depends on condition of skin), about 5 in total, spaced apart every 3 weeks. Actual Photofacial treatments take around 15-30 minutes.
IPL side Effects?
Side effects of Photofacial include temporary redness which subsides within 1-2 Hours after treatment. 100% Mineral Makeup is best for coverage.
Length of IPL Photofacial results:
Photofacial results are long-lasting and helps build your collagen naturally. After a couple of years, additional Photofacial treatments may be needed. Depends on the extrinsic factors you are exposed to and collagen stimulation.
IPL Recovery Time:
None. Some redness can occur after your initial Photofacial treatment, but can be easily covered.
Will I feel pain or discomfort after treatment?
Photofacial treatments are described as a heat flash sensation. You are protected with safety eye shields and soothed with cooling agents to assist during the treatment. After your treatment of Photofacial, it’s common to experience minor discomfort, but can be easily controlled with standard hydro-cortizone soothing balms.
